We are hiring a Logistics Network & Capacity Planning Expert for our office in Azambuja/Lisboa
Summary
This role develops fact-based logistics network and capacity solutions for international operations. It combines network modelling, demand and throughput analysis, facility sizing, and business-case development to support scalable service, cost, and investment decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Network Design & Scenario Analysis
- Conduct network studies covering distribution footprints, transport flows, inventory positioning, service levels, and cost impacts.
- Model alternative scenarios for consolidation, expansion, greenfield locations, cross-dock solutions, and, if necessary, outsourcing.
- Translate business growth and customer requirements into clear network recommendations.
2. Capacity Planning & Facility Sizing
- Develop demand, throughput, storage, resource, and facility-capacity forecasts.
- Identify capacity constraints, risks, and trigger points for investment or operational change.
- Support warehouse sizing, layout concepts, and future-state operating models.
3. Analytics & Business Cases
- Build robust models using operational, commercial, and financial data.
- Assess CAPEX, OPEX, productivity, service, and ROI impacts.
- Present concise, decision-ready recommendations to senior stakeholders.
4. Cross-functional Delivery
- Work with operations, transport, finance, IT, procurement, consultants, and international country teams.
- Maintain model transparency, data quality, assumptions, and scenario documentation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations Research, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in logistics network design, capacity planning, supply chain consulting, or logistics engineering.
- Strong capability in scenario modelling, forecasting, and data validation.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with network optimization & simulation tools, BI and database is highly desirable.
- Initial experience with using AI in this field is preferred.
- Commercial understanding and proven ability to convert analysis into practical recommendations.
- Project management experience in international and cross-functional environments.
- Team-oriented, proactive, and solution-driven mindset.
- Fluent English (written and spoken), strong communication skills, and readiness for international travel.
