Workplace Engineer is responsible for managing and securing the identity lifecycle and end-user access processes within the Microsoft 365 environment. This includes handling identity provisioning, access controls, and managing user devices across the organization. The role emphasizes integration between identity management, endpoint management, and security protocols to ensure seamless end-user computing experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage user identities and access through Azure Active Directory (AD) and Entra ID, ensuring secure authentication.
- Implement and enforce security protocols such as multifactor authentication (MFA) and Conditional Access to safeguard end-user access.
- Handle end-user device management and compliance using Microsoft Intune.
- Administer key identity components of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams, ensuring secure access and integration.
- Manage access permissions, user roles, and security settings in Azure AD.
- Provide expert support for escalated identity and access management issues.
- Ensure compliance with licensing models and subscription plans for identity-related services.
- Collaborate with teams to support identity lifecycle management, from onboarding to offboarding.
- Ensure compliance with identity security best practices and monitor for potential security incidents.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Identity and Access Manager (CIAM)) are a plus.
- ITIL Foundation and Service Now familiarity (desirable)
- Strong understanding of IAM principles, methodologies, and technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft products and ServiceNow administration.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Willingness to stay updated with industry trends and advancements in IAM..
