Senior Accountant

About the job

We are hiring a Senior Accountant to own and execute local accounting and statutory finance activities for HAVI Serbia. The position plays a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely closing, compliant statutory and tax reporting, and smooth cooperation with auditors, vendors, authorities, and HAVI’s Global Finance Hub (SSC).

The position is based in Ugrinovci, Belgrade, Serbia.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Closing

• • Manage the day-to-day accounting activities of the company and ensure accurate, complete, and high-quality financial records.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures in accordance with Group standards and Serbian accounting and tax legislation.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with National Accounting Standards.

Statutory, Tax & Treasury

• • Prepare and submit VAT returns, annual tax declarations, statutory reports, and other regulatory filings.
  • Manage local treasury activities - liquidity planning, payments, collections, relationships with local banks.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Audit, Authorities & Process Improvement

• • Support annual financial audits and act as a key contact for external auditors and tax authorities.
  • Monitor legislative changes and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
  • Liaise with local authorities, including e-faktura and e-bolovanje.

Requirements

• University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of accounting and reporting experience in Serbia, with strong knowledge of local accounting standards and tax legislation.
• Solid experience with full-cycle accounting, VAT, statutory reporting, audits, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; SAP experience is an advantage.
• Fluent in Serbian and English, both written and spoken.
• Accurate, reliable, and detail-oriented professional with strong integrity, communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset.
