This role of Decision Scientist is specializing in optimization solutions. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of related working experience, excellent knowledge of Mathematical Optimization techniques, including LP, NLP, MIP, and familiarity with optimization tools, e.g., LINDO, CPLEX, or Gurobi.
Talented and motivated individual who will be part of a group of skilled analytic resources to develop descriptive, diagnostic, predictive business solutions and deliver actionable insights to our internal and external customers. The person will be responsible for applying cutting edge analytics to solve our clients’ complex problems in areas such as supply and demand planning, restaurant analytics, distribution and category / supply management using models and frameworks related to simulation, optimization, competitive benchmarking, statistical modeling, AI, and Gen AI / Prompt engineering. The role will involve developing advanced analytic solutions in a modular way to ensure extensibility, scalability, and agility with a focus on generating powerful insights to support business decision making. This will involve keeping up to date with latest advances in data and analytics, which will then be used to inform the solution strategy. Ensuring high quality of the deliverables will be an essential part of this role. This role provides the opportunity to shape our thinking on how analytic solutions are designed, developed, and delivered. The person must be able to synthesize data into actionable insights and promote data driven strategies, drive thought leadership, and help build a trusted partnership with stakeholders. Be current on trends and developments in the market with an eye on bringing in new advancements into our analytic solutions. This role will be part of the Decision Science team within the Global Analytics and Business Insights group.
This is a hybrid role based at 345 N Morgan St, Chicago, IL 60607. Candidates must reside in the Chicago metropolitan area. Relocation assistance is not offered at this time.
Responsibilities:

Design and implement advanced solutions to solve supply chain problems using optimization, analytics and latest technologies

Perform descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive analysis to support business decision making

Synthesize analytical results into actionable insights and promote data driven strategies

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and challenges

Provide analytical support to aid in strategic decision-making and problem-solving

Develop and implement decision frameworks to optimize processes and business outcomes

Clearly communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Prepare and deliver presentations that highlight key insights and recommendations.

Collaborate with business leaders to understand their needs and tailor analytical solutions accordingly.

Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in analytics, ML / AI, and Gen AI

Propose solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges

Work closely with data engineers, software developers, and other relevant teams to implement and deploy analytical solutions.
- Collaborate with data governance teams to ensure the quality and integrity of data used in analysis
Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Operations Research, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering or related discipline
- 2+ years of related working experience on delivering supply chain optimization solutions; Excellent knowledge of Mathematical Optimization techniques, including LP, NLP, MIP, among others
- Familiarity with optimization tools, e.g., LINDO, CPLEX, or Gurobi (preferred).
- 1+ yeards of data analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, and business intelligence experience, including internships or similar experience
- Strong knowledge in Machine Learning, AI and advanced statistical models
- Experience with optimization, simulation, and statistics
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL
- Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, PowerBI
- Analytical mind and great business sense and strong abstract/design thinking
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Proved problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
- Outstanding organizational skills
*Starting Salary is $85,000-$100,000 with a 5% targeted bonus
